Lana Shahar-Kulik (Lagoonca)
Art Director/ Senior Graphic DesignerMy name is Lana and I love to create! That is why my profession is my passion.
I was born in the city of Riga (Latvia). In 1995, I moved to Israel with my family, where I studied Visual Communications at Askola-Meimad, Tel Aviv College of Art and Design. I have been working as a graphic designer and illustrator since 2002. While living in Israel for many years, I had been working as an Art Director and a Chief Graphic Designer for few prominent advertising agencies, as well as a freelancer for various companies. Hence my vast experience dealing with customers in many business areas – from high tech to retail and restaurant sector.
Many of the projects in which I took part were fashion related, and my main responsibilities were: determining the shooting concept, choosing the models for the set, approving of the members of the filming crew (the cast), filming/shooting, editing, putting together catalogs, developing banners and posters, and directly participating in printing process.
In 2008, I immigrated to Canada from Israel and gave birth to a graphic design company called Lunart Consulting. Since then I have been employed within my company as a freelancer. I am also blogging actively and writing articles. I also enjoy being a good fairy and bringing beauty to people. I love working on retouching and shading.
Drawing and working with clay are some of my favorite hobbies. In 2010 I published my first book “Curly Orli Goes to Vancouver” from my Plasticine Adventures” Project. I really enjoyed working on that art project, because I had a chance to be creative as an author and to use my experience as an illustrator, designer, publisher, and marketing and PR specialist. Currently, I am working on the second book from the series.
Creativity, individual approach to each customer, responsibility, and the ability to deliver a high quality product in a shortest time possible are the qualities that I have acquired from my working experience. We have an awesome international team of talented professional freelancers. They are people skilled and experienced in copywriting, translating, editing, and photography. All that, combined with my undivided personal involvement, is a guarantee for success!
I am fiercely optimistic, love to travel and roller skating. The skating passion of mine led to acquiring professional recognition, and I became a Certified Instructor in Inline and Quads roller skating and opened Roller Dance Owl Skate School in 2016 (www.rollerdanceowl.com).
